I built a 18 ft polyester coated redwood strip canoe 50 years ago! It has only been in the water a couple of dozen times and always stored inside. I built it primarily for fishing as it is wide 36" and a flat bottom. The last license sticker was 2000.
Some small damage/bruise, less than the size of a license plate, when the ropes broke, and it fell onto hood of my wife's car. I'm 83 now and not up for much heavy lifting. I'd like to sell if possible but at this point I'm not able to move it. Not sure that I can add a picture.
