My father Allan Button has a collection of kayaks and canoes (both slalom and downriver) for sale. Allan’s racing heyday was in the 70’s and 80’s when he won several national championships, and a team and individual bronze at the world championships. Most of these boats are his own design. Allan is now 83, his racing days are over, and the time has come to let them go - hopefully to a good home. Racing designs have moved on, but these would still be great boats for learning, playing around, or experiencing what the designs were like 40 years ago.

In Allan’s later years, he loved canoeing in the BWCAW and down local rivers, so he designed and built several open canoes, both solo and two-person, aiming for speed, lightweight, but also allowing plenty of space for packs and gear. He also designed a unique rudder system which he also fixed to the commercial Wenonah canoes.

We would be open to offers (or even giving away) the slalom and downriver boats and would consider any reasonable offers on the solo and two-man canoes.

If you would like to come and view them, we’re based in Maplewood (close to the Roseville border).
