Rookies Racers training will start this Monday (April 18th) at Cedar Lake at 5:30. We'll start off at the southwest parking lot. All those interested in race paddling technique are welcome. Free for MCA members and $5 per session for non-members.

Rookies should be on schedule for April 25th. Storms should move out by the evening. We'll be meeting at 5:45 at Cedar Lake again. Bring a boat if you've got one. Hope to see you there.

It's not looking good for rookies tonight. I don't mind paddling in rain but there's a chance of thunderstorms starting around 6 tonight. I will make an official announcement in an hour.

The water is still high on the Mississippi, so we'll be at Cedar Lake again for Rookies tomorrow (July 25th).

It's a warm day, so for those interested we can flip boats and practice recoveries in a controlled setting. Wear appropriate clothing if interested in practicing recoveries.

The Mississippi River is still relatively high in the Twin Cities so we'll hold Rookies for one more week at Cedar Lake. Meet us Monday at 5:45 at the southwest parking lot

Rookies will be at Cedar Lake this coming Monday 8/8. Has will be in the Boundary Waters so he won't be able to bring the trailer with the boats. If you have a trailer hitch and would be willing to bring the boats let me know (952-252-0459) or membership@mncanoe.org. And, as always if you have boats, please bring them.

If you find yourself bereft of something to do this Thursday evening...come on out and paddle! 5:30pm. SE Cedar Lake put-in. (2599 Cedar Lake Parkway.) Bring boats and we'll partner people up. At this point no guarantee that MCA boats will be there.

The Hoigaard's Paddle Derby series is over for the summer, but you can still come and get your Thursday paddling workout in. Come join us at Cedar Lake (2599 Cedar Lake Parkway, Minneapolis, MN). We'll have the MCA trailer there so we'll have plenty of boats. Hope to see you there.

Don't put your paddles away for the year yet. There's plenty of paddling left this year. Rookies will be running every Monday at 5:30 all the way through October. We meet at the East River Flats by the U of M campus. All are welcome, free for MCA members or $5/paddler. We have boats, paddles, PFDs and paddling partners for you!

Monday Night Rookies training sessions has been a tradition on the East River Flats for over 40 years now!! To celebrate this, we've produced MCA Rookies caps and will be selling them for $20. Get these nice hi-visibility hats at the East River Flats tomorrow.
We will be running Rookies for another 7 weeks. The fall colors and cooler weather make for great paddling. See you Monday nights at the East River Flats at 5:30.
