MCA Fall Color Cruise on the St. Croix River Saturday October 9, 2021

Come join our MCA cruisers for a view of the St. Croix River in its fall splendor.

Basic Route

Osceola Bridge Landing Rt. 243 to William O’Brien State Park at Marine on St. Croix. (MN State Parks Stickers or Daily Entrance Fee Required at Parks) River access not requiring a fee are at Osceola Landing and Log House Landing just up stream of William O’Brien.

Schedule 

9:30     Arrive at Osceola Bridge Landing, sign in, fill in and sign waiver, unload, get ready.

9:45     Start shuttle to O’Brien take outs.

10:15   Start Paddling

12:00   Lunch below the RR swing bridge. 

1:15     Resume Paddling

3:00     Arrive at O’Brien load up and finish shuttle.

4:00     Wrap up.

General Info

The trip will be insured by the USCA. There will be a $5.00 per person charge payable to the MCA. A USCA waiver must be filled out and signed by all participants. Minnesota Canoe Association Members and all Children 17 years old and under are free.

All boats must comply with US Coast Guard rules. PFD for each person and 1 whistle per boat.

Shuttle will be run by participants and coordinated by MCA leaders.

Bring your own food and beverage.

Shuttle will be run by participants. 

Suggestions on how to shuttle. 2 vehicles 2 or more people leave one vehicle at take out proceed to put in with all people boats and gear. Run river, go to put in get vehicle.

Before trip arrange with someone you are OK being in a vehicle with to shuttle together.

Another way is to meet at put in prepare for trip have a group of drivers from one vehicle wearing mask drive other people’s vehicle to take out returning in one vehicle. The vehicles at the take out are sanitized before being used.
